  • Account Information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. If you sign in via email OTP, we collect your email address.
  • Financial Data: Transaction records, account names, budget categories, debt entries, and other financial information you manually enter into the application.
  • Preferences: Your chosen currency, custom categories, and app settings.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: Basic analytics about how you interact with the application (pages visited, features used).
  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, and device type for optimizing your experience.
  • Cookies: We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

  • Provide the Service: Display your financial data, calculate balances, track budgets, and generate insights.
  • Authenticate You: Verify your identity and maintain your session.
  • Improve the Service: Understand usage patterns to fix bugs and improve features.
  • Communicate: Send important service-related notices (e.g., security alerts, Terms changes).

We do not use your information to:

  • Sell or share your data with third parties
  • Display targeted advertisements
  • Build marketing profiles
  • Make automated financial decisions on your behalf

3. Data Storage and Security

  • Your data is stored securely on our managed infrastructure
  • All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption in transit)
  • Access to stored data is restricted and protected by authentication
  • We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data
  • We do not store your Google password — authentication is handled securely by Google OAuth
  • Email OTP codes are short-lived and automatically expire after use

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in these limited circumstances:

  • With Your Consent: If you explicitly authorize us to share specific data.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process.
  • Service Protection: To protect the rights, safety, or property of PesaTrack or its users.

5. Data Retention

  • Your data is retained as long as your account is active
  • If you delete your account, all associated data will be permanently removed within 30 days
  • Backups containing your data may persist for up to 90 days before being purged
  • You can request data deletion at any time

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: View all personal data we hold about you through the application
  • Correct: Update or correct your financial data at any time
  • Delete: Request deletion of your account and all associated data
  • Export: Download your financial data in a portable format
  • Withdraw Consent: Revoke access by disconnecting your Google account

7. Cookies and Local Storage

PesaTrack uses:

  • Session Cookies: Essential for keeping you signed in. These expire when you sign out or after a period of inactivity.
  • Local Storage: Used by the PWA for offline functionality and caching preferences.

We do not use:

  • Third-party tracking cookies
  • Advertising cookies
  • Analytics cookies from third-party services

8. Third-Party Services

PesaTrack integrates with:

  • Google OAuth: For authentication only. We receive your basic profile information. Google's privacy policy applies to their handling of your data.
  • Email Delivery Provider: To send one-time password (OTP) codes and service notifications. Only your email address is shared with this provider for delivery purposes.

We do not integrate with:

  • Advertising networks
  • Data brokers
  • Social media tracking pixels

9. Children's Privacy

PesaTrack is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at [email protected] so we can delete it.

10. International Data

Your data is processed and stored on servers that may be located outside your country of residence. By using PesaTrack, you consent to the transfer of your data to these servers. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data regardless of where it is processed.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

  • Posting the updated policy within the application
  • Updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page

Continued use of PesaTrack after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
